On 2nd August at the Recital Room, City Halls, Glasgow, Becca Flory and Andrew Vincent, two ex-business professionals are launching their new innovative fashion accessories brand NU BLVCK. NU BLVCK is a brand that is going to change the way you shop. Becca and Andrew work with emerging fashion designers and artisan makers to create beautiful, exclusively designed capsule collections of fashion accessories. Their accessories are then sold on their soon to be launched e-commerce platform in limited numbers in order to support the artisan makers they’re working with. Customers are made to feel very much part of the brand and hear the stories of all involved in designing and making their limited edition product.
The launch event, which is part of Glasgow’s Merchant City Festival, will showcase the designs of emerging Scottish designer Ruth Williams who won the inaugural NU BLVCK design competition. As well as winning a cash prize of £2,000, which Becca and Andrew will present to her at the event, Ruth has also been working with the duo and their chosen artisans for the past few months, making real her dream of taking her designs to market.
“…our event is a celebration. A celebration of the launch of our brand, the creative and design community in Scotland, of our designer Ruth and of the artisans who handmade our beautiful, high quality fashion accessories. We’ll be using film, photography and good old-fashioned speech to tell you all about our brand and the talented people who have helped us bring our first collection to life.”
Becca and Andrew have teamed up with pop-up dining sensation Section-33 and Isle of Harris Distillers Ltd. for the event.
“…we’re delighted to be working with Section-33 and Isle of Harris Distillers Ltd. Two great Scottish brands that like ours, are really going places.. we all share the same values and belief that business is not only about making money but creating communities of people who want to change the world and challenge the status quo.”
As well as enjoying fantastic food and drink at the event, guests will have the exclusive chance to get in early and pre-order products from the next big label to come out of Scotland. On the night, Becca and Andrew are launching a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign to help fund the development of the e-commerce platform and future curated collections of fashion accessories.
