When it comes to dealing with psoriasis and in particular facial psoriasis, keeping your skin hydrated and moisturised is key. Knowing what the best moisturisers for facial psoriasis are that will keep your skin hydrated and not cause any irritation to your psoriasis can be a long, experimental and quite an expensive process.
Over my four-year psoriasis journey (you can read more about my journey here), I have tried many creams, lotions and potions all claiming to completely hydrate my skin and help my give facial psoriasis some relief. Below I have listed my favourite three moisturisers which I have used over the years. These moisturisers don’t irritate my psoriasis instead they soothe and hydrate my skin, furthermore, each of the products I have mentioned is under £20 meaning you can have hydrated and perfectly moisturised skin without breaking the bank (or breaking your skin out).
Beauty Kitchen Seahorse Plankton Everlasting Radiance Moisturiser – £19.99
Beauty Kitchen is a brand I am completely obsessed with right now. The Glasgow based beauty company makes products that are 100% effective, natural and affordable. Currently, I use the Seahorse Plankton Everlasting Radiance Moisturiser every morning and each night as part of my skincare routine. This moisturiser smells incredible and I love slathering it over my face and neck twice daily. The product deeply moisturises my skin leaving it feeling smooth and the Seahorse Plankton stimulates skin cells for natural renewal. I would recommend this brand to anyone who wants to keep their skin super moisturised and smooth all day round!
Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser – £19.50
I first came across this product when I bought the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish set and a small 15ml tube was included as a sample. I fast added this little tube to my travel essentials list and a must have in my handbag ensuring my skin always got the top up hydration it needed on the go. This product comes in both tub and tube form easily fitting to your preferences of how to apply moisturiser. This moisturiser is really lightweight and great for when you just need some relief from your psoriasis throughout the day.
Cetraben Cream – £12.99
Cetraben Cream is the cheapest product in my best moisturisers for facial psoriasis roundup. These products are in local Boots stores and are great if you want something that will hydrate your skin quickly. Formulated to relieve red, irritated or dry skin for people with eczema Cetraben also works amazingly with psoriasis. This is great for those with large patches of facial psoriasis or who need extra hydration during the winter. I would recommend using this moisturiser at night time only as it can be quite heavy.
