How to Survive A Long Haul Flight

When travelling along I often think about how to survive a long haul flight. Ahead of my upcoming trip to New York City, I thought I would share with you my top tips for surviving a long haul flight.

Stay Hydrated

We all know that keeping hydrated is vital for good health. Whilst flying it is even more critical due to dehydration being more likely at altitude. It is so important to drink plenty of water before, during and after the flight to ensure that you keep hydrated. It is, after all, a flight attendants number one tip!

Your skin also loses hydration whilst flying.Cabin pressure and dry recirculated air suck moisture from your skin. Therefore, it is important to keep your skin hydrated using your favourite moisturisers and mists too as well as drinking water. I like to slather on a good amount of the amazing Beauty Kitchen Seahorse Plankton Everlasting Radiance Moisturiser as soon as I sit down. This allows my skin to have a good amount of hydrating moisturiser before take off. After take-off, I like to use the Kiehls Cactus Flower and Tibetan Ginseng Mist to rehydrate my skin throughout the flight. These two ingredients work together to help skin maintain its essential moisture. The mist also contains essential oils that detoxify and protect your skin from environmental aggressors. This makes the mist essential for long haul flights.

I also fly with no make-up on to ensure my skin can breathe. Plus, I slather another good amount of moisturiser to make sure my skin is super hydrated for landing.

Get Some Rest

I like to ensure I get a good amount of rest on a long haul flight. On planes, lower oxygen levels contribute to feelings of fatigue. Plane cabins are pressurised to simulate elevation, therefore blood absorbs less oxygen at those altitudes. This can cause dizziness, sleepiness and general lack of mental sharpness.

To help me get a good rest because it certainly isn’t the airplane seats, is TRTL Travel Pillow. This is a revolutionary travel pillow which is Scientifically proven to hold your neck in a better position than a standard U-shaped travel pillow. It gives me a great onboard sleep and I wake up feeling super refreshed and ready for the rest of the day.
